Madhuri Dixit dazzles in blue

The makers of Dedh Ishqiya held a special screening of the film for Bollywood friends at a theatre in suburban Mumbai on Thursday night. The cast, in their dazzling best, also attended the do.

The star of the evening, of course, was Madhuri Dixit who made an entry with husband Dr Sriram Nene in town.

When the actress was questioned about the recent Saifai performance controversy, she replied: " We all have contributed towards a cause. We did our bit and now the government has to do their bit." Madhuri looked radiant in a navy blue, floor- length anarkali.

There has been a double dose of excitement for her fans this week, of course. The trailer of her next film Gulab Gang was released with Dedh Ishqiya on Friday.

" Usually friendship between boys is seen in Hindi films, but this time a relationship between two women will be seen," she said about Gulab Gang , in which she plays the activist leader of a gang of women who protect women's rights in a village.

Huma Qureshi, Madhuri's costar in Dedh Ishqiya , looked pretty in a pink anarkali. The premiere was also attended by Kalki Koechlin, who made an unusual style statement in a stunning black sari and bindi.

Kalki's arrival made many in the media curious since it was largely speculated that Huma was the reason for Kalki's split with erstwhile husband Anurag Kashyap.

Others spotted at the do included the film's producer Vishal Bhardwaj and his wife Rekha, Arshad Warsi and wife Maria Goretti, film- maker Vikramaditya Motwane, and actors Vijay Raaz and Rajkumar Yadav.
